Which will provide customers an opportunity to cancel without penalty, and either go elsewhere or negotiate a cheaper price with Virgin Media.
Or am I the only one that does this?

No it isn't, what?
Prices go up every year - it's called Capitalism. We live in a capitalist society so the price needs to go up every year otherwise the system doesn't work.
Sky have (almost) always said their price will go up every year.
More recently BT and Virgin are doing the same thing. Unfortunately customers need to accept this otherwise they can move to bottom-feeders like talktalk or primus.

The company said the price rise would allow it to remain competitive and provide value for its customers

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
It does not make sense. Don't they know that everyone is cash strapped and are fed up with price increases.
My BB is totally crap from VM and all these promises about VM increasing the BB is beyond belief. It would be ok if they could justify the increase, but typically they wont. Only to say 'we will give customers what they want' bull****.
