My TiVo box is making a throbbing noise which only stops if I disconnect the box. It is clearly audible when TV volume is low or muted. Any ideas before I call Virgin?
Try standing it on something soft, but be careful to not block the ventilation holes on the bottom. A bit of foam rubber (such as a cut-up mouse mat) under each foot can work well.
Decided to try something before going with your suggestion. Moved the TiVo box from bottom shelf of my av unit to the shelf above. Now can only hear noise if I press my ear close to the box. Result. Wouldn't have thought of it if you hadn't mentioned putting something under the box. Cheers.
