Re: Weird Connection Dropouts

From a quick whois on that IP it seems it belongs to Virgin, is it your IP address by any chance?

wireshark is a very powerful tool but not the easiest to work with and not sure if its the best starting point for your problem.

When your connection drop out is your router still connected? Like whats the lights on your modem/router show. Can you login to and check logs and status from the modem/router and paste that here.

Re: Weird Connection Dropouts

Are you using a router or connecting directly using a modem?

Re: Weird Connection Dropouts

I had the same problem some weeks back, irrespective of wether I ran it through a router or modem regardless of what settings used, the connection would continually drop at or close to the same time hourly

Eventually it did get resolved but it was hugely frustrating to say the least so I know exactly what you are going through

More to the point, the problems actually returned this weekend

If you established everything on your end is ok might be worth just contacting them first thing and reporting the fault.. chances are they are doing maintanance or have a problem somewhere

Seems to be doing it a fair bit this year, we've had the connection for 10 years or so(ex-blueyond), so we've had our share of minor problems down the road, but its alot more noticable this year

Probably is their end, or at least something in the middle

You'd be better off posting the modem's status page than those.
