picture quality

Hi,just bought a new TV for the living room.a Sony LCD/led kdl r473 40inch.switching between the digital tuner and the v HD box during easties tonight I noted that the BBC HD picture was far better quality than the BBC hd v HD box picture.it was more rich whereas the v hd box was kinda washed out looking.is there any reason why the pictures are so different in quality.cheers john

Re: picture quality

Must admit I've noticed the same when I've switched from freeview BBC1 HD to Tivo HD that the freeview looks more vibrant. And no it's not my TV as I've just splashed out on a Sony W9 LED set. Interesting isn't it.

Sony TVs have independant picture settings for each input. Have you checked that you are using the same settings for the Tivo HDMI input as for the TVs digital tuner?
