Virgin Media Retentions

Hi everyone,

I was offered the following...

TVXL with Tivo
30MB BB
Talk Weekends

£36.99PM for 6 months, then £41.99PM.

I was pleased with this, do you think it's a good deal?

Re: Virgin Media Retentions

Yeah, v.good. I'm paying that now for what I've got

I phoned initially to get this deal but got told plain and simple that it was "for brand new customers only"
Then they had the nerve to tell me on twitter that they treat all their customers equally

Is this package what you have at the moment and how much were you paying?

I must phone sometime and see if i can get a Tivo with free activation, don't think i'll bother with it otherwise.

I just recently upgraded to the VIP collection from the Premier Collection with a 500GB TiVo. The deal I was given was an upgrade to a 1TB TiVo with FREE activation and also FREE installation (they also gave me the package for £96.49 INCLUDING line rental, instead of it costing the advertised £115.49), so it is possible to get a free activation deal and possibly a better price for your package as well, and therefore worthwhile giving them a call.

Yes including line rental, I checked this with him about 3 times!! I'll be double checking my next bill though.

Previous to this I had-

TVL with Tivo
30MB BB
Talk weekends
£40.64 (Including £11 loyalty discount which ran for two years)

So basically for just £1.35 extra I've upgraded to TVXL.

I was going to transfer to Sky as I got a 50% off Sky code, but I love Tivo and Virgin BB speeds so was happy to stay with this deal.

Re: Virgin Media Retentions

Wouldn't touch BT with a barge pole. Inferior products less sport and appallingly inefficient and rude customer service and engineers not a patch on VM's....

Like I said I'm knocking tv on the head, would be going for faster gaming and so I don't get warning letters if I download some big files on a Saturday afternoon.

Re: Virgin Media Retentions

My current contract is up in october. VM called me and offered me:

Swap my 500 Tivo for 1TB
A new Tivo 1TB for my sons room
Keep my other 2 x 1TB Tivos
(total of 4 Tivos)
Keep 30mb BB
Keep XL TV
Caller ID
Drop phone down to free weekends only (now on XL but hardly use landline)
Spotify for 3 months
All with free installation and activation.

For £70 a month, I pay £72 now, also going to pay Landline Saver which would bring my monthly payment down by £14.99

Originally told price would be £72, paper contract says £70, confirmed tonight that paper contract is correct.

We never use the landline so the Unlimted Call plan will be swapped for a extra Tivo. Is this good?
