Virgin Failed To Cancel Tv Package
I told virgin i wished to cancel the tv and phone line last month {am out of contract} as i felt the cost was now to high, unless i could sign a new contract on the same rates as a NEW customer, to cut a long story short the best offer i got was £5 a month off my £110-£120pm bill {didn't even have the top package} so told them just turn it off.
I phoned up Tuesday {23rd} just to check about disconnecting the boxes, and if it was still due to go off and was told that it would be going off on the 24th {yesterday} well, its still on the phone was disconnected yesterday, but the tv is still on.
Now i don't intend phoning virgin on my mobile, so have sent them a email {god knows when they will answer} but am i liable for the EXTRA bill from the tv?
Will fire another email off tomorrow just in case.

Try getting in touch with their Twitter team as well, you have to fill out a form but they are generally quite quick in responding during office hours.

Have you checked that the pay TV channels have gone off? Your box will still show the FTA channels, including 1 to 5

Re: Virgin Failed To Cancel Tv Package
Hi guys
Have heard nothing back from virgin, so have just phoned them about 15 minutes ago {of my mobile  }
Explained to them the situation regarding the tv still on, but the phone off, they had a quick check then said it hadnt been put through properly and that i would need to phone back AGAIN tomorrow, told them that it was costing me money to sort out there mess, but they just didnt seem bothered.
Told them that i have proof that i have phoned them at least twice to cancel, even the day before it was due to be cancelled, plus contacting them by email, and that it should not be up to me to sort it out, have told them i will give them next week to sort it out then just cancel my direct debit.
What they going do, cut me off?
Richard, i have still got ALL the sports, movies and everything.

Re: Virgin Failed To Cancel Tv Package
It is most likely that the contract has been terminated but that some of commands to switch off TV and Broadband didn't go through correctly. If you still have access to myvirginmedia and can login to the billing section it might tell you what if you do still have any services still being charged for.

Re: Virgin Failed To Cancel Tv Package
I once had a friend who stopped paying Sky, eventually the channels went off one by one, but it was only when Sky did a card change that he lost Film 4 and the Sky movie channels (he didn't have sports).
In the past when VM have found out that services aren't being paid for, they have sent out letters to the customers affected and started charging from the date of the letter. No back payments were requested. I had free broadband in my main home for years

Re: Virgin Failed To Cancel Tv Package
Well it will be three weeks tomorrow since my tv and phone SHOULD have been turned off, as i said in a earlier post the phone went off on time, but i have still got ALL my channels, movies, sports etc.
Just waiting to see if they TRY and bill me for them
I have sent them two emails about it, even had a reply saying they had received my email, and have phoned them twice, one the day before cut off date to make sure it was still going off, and again off my mobile {about 20 mins}
They have taken a payment {yesterday} which i take SHOULD be my final tv and phone bill?
How long does it take for the NEXT bill to appear, so i know if they are going to TRY and charge me for another month of tv?

You pay in advance so all you should have been paying are calls made to when the telephone cancelled. I would be concerned if it was a normal months payment that was taken.
