Pixellation on HD channels
Recently I seem to be getting a lot of pixellation on HD channels, BBC1&2, ITV1&3 and Alibi. Also, sometimes picture freezes and box has to be reset to get HD back.
Is this a common problem?
Signal is 35dB, AGC 30

Re: Pixellation on HD channels
I had a booster fitted to stop this after about four engineer visits. It affected virtually all of my HD channels.

Re: Pixellation on HD channels
It's your signal level, probably too low - you need to arrange a call out to sort it.

Re: Pixellation on HD channels
I'm currently experiencing the same problems on HD channels especially Discovery and National Geographic. Recently can't access Sky Sports 4 at all and the V+ box has recently started to drop channels. Been on the phone twice to Customer Support who assure me that all will be fixed by April 6.
They claim that this is a known fault in my area despite there being no mention of it on the service status page. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and see if the service improves. If there's no improvement I'll be cancelling and heading back to Sky.
I would rather stay with Virgin as I feel it has the best all round TV package but I won't put up with a poor service for too long!

Re: Pixellation on HD channels
Check it again first. There has been a fault in the Grimsby area this week. It was fixed this morning.

Re: Pixellation on HD channels
Is there a fault in the Coventry area too?
My dad and I both have pixellation on our boxes, I'm at my place right now and ESPN HD, Sky 1 and ITV 3 are unwatchable.

Just rang them, its a known fault in my area (all of the HD channels apart from ITV HD are unwatchable - cue joke about ITV channels are unwatchable anyway ).

I rang to report a fault, they said they could see a problem with my box (V+), so eng coming on Saturday.
There was no mention of a fault in Grimsby area, but must admit that pixellation was much reduced last night. We'll see what happens tomorrow, don't know what fault was seen with box.
