TiVO deleting my programmes
Is there any way to set a default for the TiVO not to delete my recorded programmes? Each time I set up a new recording I have to remember to go back into the recording to tell it to keep until I delete. If I don't it deletes it after a day or two, but is not in the deleted items folder (strangely there is nothing in there). It says in recording hiccups that it was deleted to make space for new recordings but I am only up to 62%. Thanks

Re: TiVO deleting my programmes
Do you record everything in HD? That takes up a lot of space and in order for TiVo to 'book' the space for the next two weeks' recordings it will delete programs if it needs the space to book them
No there is no way to default 'keep till I delete' which is shy I many set all important series links

Re: TiVO deleting my programmes
It seems Virgin have finally agreed there is an issue with programmes deleting when not needed to be.
There is a thread about it on the official forum that is asking for examples etc.

Re: TiVO deleting my programmes
I'm glad its a known issue. The past week i have had a few recordings (even ones set to keep until i delete) remove themselves. In alot of the cases its recorded them and deleted them pretty much instantly. Right pain. Also had it the other day stop recording half way through a show for no reason while i was watching it, luckily i could go to the tuner and finish the show from there.

I am sorry to hear this - please let us know when it is sorted. I can say that it has never been a problem for me. Is it area related ?

Re: TiVO deleting my programmes
I'm afraid I've been seeing this issue too. My TiVo was hovering around the 50% used mark, and is a tad lower at the moment. I generally record HD content. A couple of programmes I've set as to record series, hold up to 10 shows, and was going to watch more as a series, have already lost a couple of shows . Deleted items has also cleared itself, as have all suggestions. Something clearly gone awry.

Re: TiVO deleting my programmes
Ye mines the same suggestions and recently deleted always clear. My box is on 76% so its not full and have never had problems like this before and usually it is more full than this!

Re: TiVO deleting my programmes
Could be as much as a single character wrong in the software to cause this.
On the Sky box you can press the blue button to keep a program so that it is not automatically deleted when space is needed. Does the Tivo have a similar option you can use for the time being so you don't lose anything?

I think it does, when i set a recording via a series link it asks how you want it saved and one option is until i delete it. The area i am in does not seem to have this issue at the moment but i see it can be annoying to lose something, can people not just undelete it ?

Yes when you record a program you have two options regarding deletion. "Keep until space is needed" or "Keep until i delete". In my case even if i have had some recordings at "Keep until i delete" they have vanished!

Then that is not good.
I have Super League games from last year on my TIVO, they better not be deleted

On the Sky box you can apply the keep option to already recorded stuff, so maybe you can do that too and not just stuff you record from now on.
Should get the protected deletions reported as a bug too, even though its probably closely related to the original issue, just in case!

Re: TiVO deleting my programmes
This is quite worrying, although it hasn't happened to me yet. I'm always between 80 and 92% full but it would be a right pain to re-set all the recordings to save them. Hope they fix it soon.

Re: TiVO deleting my programmes
This bug has annoyed me a lot now and it all seems to be on one channel. Comedy Central.
Three shows new this week (mike and Molly, anger management, two and a half men)
Had a series link for anger management set to keep until I delete. Already had two episodes on my TiVo and it was going to record another tonight. Come to it now it recorded tonight's....then deleted all three episodes!
Mike and Molly & two and a half men manually set to record and keep until I delete. Both deleted after recording.
All recordings can't be recovered. My recently deleted and suggestions all cleared!
Recording hiccups said the shows expired and needed space. I have 76% and haven't got much to record anyway!
So that's my annoying experience. Gonna let virgin know about this as they have recognised this fault!
