Theresa May V The Police: A Timeline
http://news.sky.com/story/1574316/th...ice-a-timeline
In todays life and times, we have London, like many other parts of the country. The police service is having its force ripped to pieces with severe cuts.
Yet crime is going up, Knife crime is on the increase. The public cannot go out after dark through fears of being robbed or assaulted .
Yet in the UK we will face cuts again up and until 2020 to save money. Many years ago when l was growing up, you could walk into any house on your street and speak to the neighbour and spend hours talking to them, and then go into someone else, without knocking on the door.
Now, people are scared of burglars, being robbed or mugged. Even though l can handle myself, l am literally scared to walk into the town centre with my wife, without looking over my shoulder.
We have to have an increase of police officers or police staff on our streets, not cut them
Every Force in the UK is cutting officers and stations to save money. This should not be happening when we send billions overseas

Cyber crime is up as is fraud but Action Fraud who fraud is reported to not to your local police station only have 26 investigators who cover the whole of the UK!

We can afford the police.
we need the police.
the plan is to throw Britain into chaos as a result of not having enough police.
you can tell by they keep cutting more hoping that whatever it is that is chaos will happen sooner.
the thing you have to worry about is why and who wants this country to turn to chaos?
what happens? what is the main goal?

I was in Hounslow today. Yes, l saw police officers - but these were British Transport Officers due to the rugby.
We need visible officers on our streets. Its ok for MPs, they can call up policers at any time. Like a certain MP l know, called police when they were drinking outside his house wating for a bus, they were there in minutes - if we called them, we would wait hours.
In various parts of the UK. EACH force is making severe cuts, so that Miss May can get her own back at the police. Doesn't make sense. London is a terrorism hotspot - what do we do - cut the police, just goes to show you what Cameron, Osborne and Boris think of the public

You just want the police who protect Dave to be cut.
cut and cut some more till there's nobody there to look after him.
then someone like Osborne can say we need more police.
it was stupid of Dave to cut and cut the police. what he was thinking only God knows.
miss you Dave.

If you're going to be mugged or simply attacked, then the criminals are going to wait until the Police have gone by. Having patrols isn't going to stop that.

re: Theresa May V The Police: A Timeline
I spoke to police at an incident a few nights back in Edgeware, they said the latest scam for fiddling the figures of reported crime is by not having enough people to file the reports, I was amazed, as if people not bothering to report crimes didn't massage the figures enough, now they resort to not logging them or down grading their importance.

Like most figures that come out l think we have to take them with a pinch of salt TD as they have been massaged and fiddled in such a way that most people simply don't believe them anymore.

Don't forget the electorate voted for these cuts in social services, police, etc. Maybe someone who voted for Dave can comment if they are still happy with this policy?

Police cost money if people dont want to pay the extra money then cuts are needed. Its as simple as that. When asked directly (when it matters not just a servey) people decide they dont want to pay extra taxes for increased police presence. In a referendum in Bedfordshire in May just short of 70% of the electroatre voted against a 32p-48p (depending on your banding) per week increase in council tax to fund the police. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-32694166

re: Theresa May V The Police: A Timeline
Beeman, l don't know if it is happening in Cambridgeshire, but the public in there area's of many county forces are signing a petition to save local officers, and have offered to pay extra council tax to INCREASE visible presence on the streets.
Visible on the streets can bring extra safety for the public, most crimes are not being attended as there is no one to attend them.
I cannot understand why they are cutting police officers are staff. Doesn't make sense

re: Theresa May V The Police: A Timeline
With the cost of things these days I know many working people who cannot afford to pay more in council tax to keep police officers and also do not want that to be the way council tax is decided. Apparently when it suits them the economy is doing better then expected and everything's rosy then the next week we find out the next thing that's going to be cut. We have an extremely politically dynamic economy at the minute that always appears to do exactly what the politicians need it to do. To be honest we could have the biggest booming economy in the world and there would still be cuts because it's ideology driving things at the minute not the real life situation of most of the citizens in the UK.

Arthur where are your facts for crime going up and people too scared to go out??
I am certainly not scared and don't feel I have to look over my shoulder all the time and I stay in Glasgow.

That's true - we don't feel unsafe when you're in Glasgow either...
