TALKTALK Fiber Brilliant!
Just had our talktalk fiber installed this morning. We were quoted 68mb and are getting 75mb!. Very pleased everything feels so much faster. Only downside i have found so far is my ping seems to be a little higher than other peoples on the fiber.. not sure why.

Re: TALKTALK Fiber Brilliant!
Because speedtest.net is useless for testing ping.
Use the damn ping command.

Re: TALKTALK Fiber Brilliant!
also that ping is dependent on location. If your data travels further then ping time will be higher.

Nice speeds. How are you finding the connection in general? TalkTalk had a lot of bad press the last few years so wondering if they are turning that around now.
As I understand it with openreach fibre, the actual fibre cabinet is the equivalent of an actual exchange as it does the work previously done at the exchange.

Re: TALKTALK Fiber Brilliant!
The connection is very reliable so far have had no downtime atall. No lag during gaming is really nice no regrets atall changing from virgin to the talktalk fiber. Ive started a thinkbroadband ping monitor:

Re: TALKTALK Fiber Brilliant!
From what I have seen so far, no one regrets moving from virgin to any other fibre supplier As everyone is so much happier with their new connection, makes it hard to get a good idea of how all the other fibre providers compare though. Glad its working well for you and can relate to how how nice it is for gaming after having VM fibre!

Well you may have the definition of unlimited sorted, but your definition of fibre somewhat differs from mine

Re: TALKTALK Fiber Brilliant!
Just talking this way to avoid confusion, would much prefer to call them hybrid connections

So VMs "unlimited fibre" is actually "limited hybrid"

What you are pinging is neither in front of your house or 2 minutes up the road.

It's called hybrid-fibre-coax for a reason.
