Britain's Hidden Child Abuse
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...hannel-1562987
http://www.channel4.com/programmes/d...es/4od#3470982
Channel 4 documentary claims religious leaders have been protecting child abusers
Dispatches found 19 cases where crimes were not reported as the Orthodox Jewish community prefers to deal with it internally
I saw this program and was quite disturbed.
Whats everyones thoughts?

I may be wrong but i seem to think some religions have a bigger problem than others as well.

I would suggest the more influential the religion the bigger the problem

I don't think there is any doubt as to the Catholic churches massive problems with child abuse ,they are one of the most(if not the most) influential churches around .I think their potential has been fully realised

Re: Britain's Hidden Child Abuse
I'm not downplaying the Catholic church's history of such matters but as we're seeing with the whole Jimmy Saville thing, how much of this sort of thing has also been 'well-hidden in plain view' in other areas of society?

Interesting choice of words...
Thing is though, whether it's Saville, the RC church or the local scoutmaster they all seem to operate under a veil of trust and unspoken protection. Not good as especially with Saville can there really be any section of society you could truly say you trust? These urges transcend vocation, title etc.

Yes, apparently they did an in-depth study of common sense and found that some people within the EU had a lot more than others so in an effort to 'harmonise' things they decided everyone having none was a better idea.
