MP's show they understand the concerns of voters.
Remember the whole "We are all in this together" and "Everyone needs to share the pain"?
It seems a certain 'profession' doesn't agree. Not content with claiming expenses for anything and everything, having multiple jobs, probably the only pension scheme that could be described accurately as gold plated and VERY generous holidays the poor didums are complaining about being woefully underpaid. 
One even claimed £66k a year meant his children had to go without Xmas presents!

Sack them all. let them have to support themselves with the money they've saved from not having to spend it. and then when they've spent all that and claim benefits. we can chuck big bricks at them.

I think wanting to be in Government should automatically dismiss you from being there. The greatest minds in economics and business and other areas should run the country in their spare time unpaid.
If that does not happened then pot should definitely be legalized and sold in corner shops for a tenner an ounce and then the whole rest of the crap we have to put up with in this country won't matter so much anymore

I think ministers and those that have extra responsibility to the nation should get more.
But for your 'run of the mill' back bencher I think 60,000 + all the other benefits as more than generous.
I mean I have to admit some ignorance, but what does a typical backbencher do? Apart from answer letter (which they can employ someone to do) and attend civic events, and the odd radio talk show.

Well as Alan Duncan said, after their expenses were cut they're now forced to live on 'rations' of £60k, poor souls.

I am normally in favour as it's a pretty important job but given they've insisted on 1% for everyone then they can take take. 1% increase.

Yes, they may have an argument in normal circumstances but now certainly the time. When they've succeeded in getting us out of the mess they led us into they might get a bit more sympathy from me but if they're going to be rewarded for success they ought to be punished for failure and on that basis the opposition benches would be emptier than most.

That's ridiculous! 32%?!? What? What? And again, WHAT?!
For most people in what we laughingly call the real world, the £60K+ most of 'em are already on is five years' salary - and that's without all the other perks! Is it any wonder people don't vote?!
