Mansion Tax - www.skynews.com

On www.skynews.com , it states that Mr Osborne will not introduce a Mansion Tax.

Simple reason for that if he did it would end the donations from Multi Millionaires into the coffers of the Tory Party, Its OK to hit the overstretcehd pockets of the everyday working person, but not the people who get away with millions of pounds in umpaid tax from the friends of The Tory Party.

Not stupid are they.

Arthur, for the 500th time please can you provide a link to the actual article and NOT just to the site it's on.

No mansion tax but it's ok because more welfare cuts are coming keep remembering people "were all in it together".

They cut the welfare.
go back in and cut some more.
then think of what to do next and cut some more off the welfare.

Britain is going to be really fun soon.

Re: Mansion Tax - www.skynews.com

A mansion tax would give practically nothing to the treasury ,it will only be of use if the owner sells the property .The treasury would be far better off sorting out the tax once and for all to make sure everyone pays the right tax

It is also very unfair ,if someone has worked all their life to be able to afford a nice house then over a period of years the area changes and the house prices are inflated why should that person have to pay extra tax on the house should he want to sell it .

If the rich people can pay little or no tax because they are able to hire the best accountants then what makes people think those same accountants won't find a way around this brainless idea

Perhaps not, but it would give at least some credence to the "we're all in this together" claim. From where I'm standing, it looks a lot as if "we're very much not all in this together at all".

Conservative conference: Cameron in benefit cuts warning

Further cuts to welfare, including curbs on housing benefit, may be needed to help fight the deficit, David Cameron has warned.

Speaking on first day of the Conservative Party conference, the prime minister said housing benefit may be reviewed for under-25s.

He promised "further action" to ensure the rich "pay their fair share".

But senior Tories have ruled out a tax on expensive properties or a one-off "wealth tax" backed by the Lib Dems.

Yes but it would depress the housing market.

Nope, I think it's a true reflection of his limited intellect as evidenced by 99.99999999% of his postings.

Anyway I'm delighted that my lavish, inherited family pile Osem Towers isn't going to cost me any more...

Correct, what we really need is Miliband's "One Nation" - so much more sincere...
