Re: Virgin in 3d

And no 3D on demand. Rubbish isn't it. Netflix has a 3D section and I'm pushing Lovefilm to do some too. LG's new SmartTV format has a 3D section too.

Don't get 3D TV. Only 3D ever seen was at Disney World about 16 years ago.

they don't have special effects in homes tho do they?

I really don't see the point. Sport in 3D I've not seen but I know they put the cameras lower down. The good thing about football on the tele is that you can see the whole pitch and positioning of players etc... A low down camera angle ruins it. (Anyone who's seen Spurs in Europe will testify)

Re: Virgin in 3d

I like watching the odd 3D film or 3D content (though not on VM anymore as they removed it)

It's not something I would use all the time, but with the right film it certainly makes it more enjoyable to watch with the family

Re: Virgin in 3d

It's a treat thing like a Sunday afternoon viewing with the kids or late night stuff like Prometheus. My next TV must have 3D capability.

Re: Virgin in 3d

Some people can't see the 3d effect, it usually means one of your eyes isn't as good as the other, also I read that women are less likely to get enthusiastic about HD because they can't see as many shades of colours as men, I suppose if you have slight colour blindness as well that doesn't help.

Re: Virgin in 3d

Have never seen the point myself. I did not mind the odd old-school 3D film fun when I was younger (Jaws 3D etc) but that was only for the gore. That fad came and went, as I think this one will too.
I have not seen a great deal of modern 3D other than what Channel 4 broadcast last year and the odd sport game. It really did not appeal to me, although I have not watched a movie in "3D." Most of the time it is just a gimmick added on in post production.
Let's hope VM acquire some content for those who do want it though:-)

Re: Virgin in 3d

Well I watched titanic on 3d and the detail (not nessacerily the pop) belied a film that was shot 16 years ago, i have my 3d TV calibrated for 3d and it was amazing as was Jurassic park... Newer films that where shot for 3d like life of pi can make you go wow with the correct equipment set up correctly.

Re: Virgin in 3d

Not sure what setup you need to do. My setup consisted of plugging the TV in and the 3D is fantastic.
