100M Question About Ethernet Wires

Was just a quick question, since I have my ethernet cable running upstairs, there are two points in the cable which have a "slight bend" in them. The wire isn't exactly stretched or forcefully bent, just a slight curve.

Will this be ok for the wires or do they need to remain straight?

No problem at all, as long as there are no breaks in the cable. The electrons will all just move to the part of the wire with the widest curve so they don't get slowed down.

The OP may find that in time, as the electrons tend to flow round the outer edge of the curve, they erode the plastic sheath that protects the wire, while at the same time depositing a fine plastic silt from upstream on the inner side of the wire. In this way, over a period of years, the bends in the cable would appear to meander across the wall and become more and more pronounced.

Bend radius for the cable Cat5 and cat6 is a minimum of 4 times the cables outer diameter, so for a 6mm diameter it means a bend with a radius of not less than 32mm

it isnt anything to worry about dude. The wires inside arent straight anyway, they are all twisted around one another so they are bent to start off with
