Superhub Settings
With a 30Mb connection, is it recommended (to get the best speed/results) to enable OBSS, or should I disable it?
Should I leave wireless on up to 145Mbps or 300Mbps?? ...Both seem to work fine for me...
Thanks

Disable OBBS & leave wireless @ 145. There are a few other settings that you could look at & they are mentioned in the R36 beta thread (can't provide link as on my phone)

The only issue for me is the wireless range, other than that both R30 & R36 no problems. Doesnt mean to say there are no problems tho judging by the amount of post's made by people who do suffer with them.

Re: Superhub Settings
I still wouldnt use it dude. Yes there have been some improvements but there is also lots of things wrong with it still and you can tell how rubbish it is by their attitude. You can tell their attitude stinks about the whole thing because they really released R36 with known bugs in it and when users brought it to their attention it was "oh yeah we knew about that, we'll fix it next time". And so it keeps going on and on. Do you think they are powered on Ariston?

Re: Superhub Settings
the range is very very poor anything more than 10 meters away and you can get no signel we use it just as a modem and use our belkin router instead still get a signel 30 meters away.

Re: Superhub Settings
so just got my shub installed
gonna use it for a few days as router
see if i get any problems
if i do i get a separate router
now i supposedly on the 60mb connection
engineer did a speed test before he left and it shows just over 10mb (even though i was supposed to be on 20mb before)
and said it might take 24hours before i get put on 60mb
is this true?
anything i should do to make the shub more stable?

What is OBBS as I can't see it in any of the menus?

Re: Superhub Settings
It's only applicable to 300Mbps WiFi and is greyed out in the advanced wireless radio settings if not on 300.
From the superhub help text ...
Quote:
Up to 300Mbps = best for wireless performance.
This option uses channel expansion (40MHz) to achieve the optimum wireless data throughput rate; however it will impair wireless range/coverage. When this option is selected the Super Hub will use the selected primary channel (20MHz) and expand to a secondary channel (20MHz) to achieve 40 MHz frame-byframe bandwidth. With OBSS enabled, the Super Hub will automatically monitor channel usage and disable frame-by-frame expansion (i.e. drop to 20MHz) if the expansion would result in interference with the data transmission of other wireless networks in your vicinity.

what? All this stuff about 24 hours is flipping rubbish. He should have made a phone call while he was there to get the shub registered and up and running on the network and they should have provisioned you for the new 60mbit config. The shub reboots and voila. It takes a few mins to download the latest firmware and reboot and you are sorted.
Have a look at your connection status or whatever page it is under now and see what speed you are provisioned for. If it still stays 10mbit or 20mbit ring them up and get them to upgrade you over the phone, it is a 60 second job at best.

Re: Superhub Settings
it is a 60mbit config. If you are getting pretty much bang on 30mbit it makes me think you have been stm'd because that knocks you down to 50%

Re: Superhub Settings
was getting speeds under 20mb down and under 1mb up for a few days (wired)
got around calling support as i had some time this afternoon
was connected to a oversea call center (great!!!)
after the usual security questions and have u rebooted modem
he wanted to remote access my computer (with rescue123)
i played along with it
after lagging around my screen checking network card drivers
and looking through a few router Wifi settings
he only changed wifi channel
went to speedtest.net and got results of 35mb or so (lucky?)
mind you this was taking a long time as he was lagging around
well he then said my PC was freezing up
told him this is a newly built PC and im not seeing any freezing
in the end he said he will raised this to his seniors
and said they would call me back
oh well
not like the internet is really lagging
and i dont actually download anything nowadays
but just want to get something closer to what im paying for
