SA V+ box - component output faulty

I have one of the old SA V+ boxes and have recently acquired a device which can only input HD over a component video (YPbPr) connection. Unfortunately the box is not outputting the red signal(Pr). I've checked the leads etc and all seems to be ok - HDMI & SCART work fine also. There seems to be nothing wrong with the socket so it is almost certainly a problem inside the box - either hardware or software.

VM tell me that they can't find one of these boxes anywhere, and repair is apparently not an option so I'm basically stuck with what I've got.

Before I start spending more money in an attempt to obtain an HDMI-Component converter does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Re: SA V+ box - component output faulty

VM are phasing out the SA V+ and even the Samsung V+ is only provided for fault swaps now, as everything will eventually be replaced by the TiVO. So it looks like the HDMI-Component route is now the only option.

Could you "push" the fault side & get a tivo
