Cablehell.co.uk
Considering CableForum seems on balance to be pretty pro VM I was surprised to find a visitor on my new blog from http://cablehell.co.uk/ which is just a nom-de-plume of http://www.cableforum.co.uk/
Apart from the old name still existing it seems some still have it as their bookmark to here.
Hedging your bets?

Re: Cablehell.co.uk
Why don't you look up the history of cablehell here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CableHell
It may help you.
Not sure why it's 'hedging your bets' to have a link via a defunct name?
Some members on here still have nthellworld.co.uk as their bookmark to get to CF.
edit - and I should mention that there's no reason why you / people can't be members of CF and the replacement for cablehell....
Plenty of space for both and all that.

You may find this informative....

There was and is room for both sites on the internet and there's a lot of information NOT present in the Wiki articles. Frank relocated which took him outside the range of Virgin Media's involvement, NTL closed NTHellworld.com perhaps 3 months after this site opened and the animosity between what was then ntlhell and this site / nthellworld was buried. The only reasons for that animosity vanished around the same time.
Now, like I said, I own interhell, I can't comment on ownership or influence of this site because I do not know all the details, nor do I claim to. I would say take a look around, form your own opinion, and of all the sources of definitive information, I wouldn't choose wikipedia as an authoritative source. If you think the site seems to quote the party line, it could be because on the whole VM have improved. I myself find (And I am a VM customer) that the problems that plagued them when the sites were created have been solved on the whole (Exceptions being VMDG280 and the superhub) they are actually trying harder. I am not one to back down from a good argument and I actually have an entirely positive reputation on here. I criticise when necessary and praise when earned, and not once have I been told not to criticise Virgin Media on here.
Oh, and just for the hell of it? I was one of the first members to join here, I think on the second or third day of the site being open.

Not knocking VM as such, but the superhub does seem to suffer from some problems in the wild, the reports I get seem to refer to problems with the integrated wifi antennae and some of the firmware coding, the latter can be resolved through code, but the former - perhaps the next generation will go back to external antennae? Not as neat for packaging but the range improvements are unquestionable. The wifi range isn't unique to the VM specific kit, I have a WNR2000 with internal antennae - similar problem with range.

Re: Cablehell.co.uk
Not sure why this would be a big deal.
www.nthellworld.co.uk is still active as well.

Re: Cablehell.co.uk
Cf is not pro-VM. We are not anti-VM but that doesn't mean we are 'pro'. We used to have a good working relationship with VM until they let us down quite badly but we sit in hope they will again recognise the potential benefits of having us on-side.

Re: Cablehell.co.uk
Indeed, Russ.
When I first opened TelewestInfo, the company was very good to me; even going so far as to give me a (then) new TVDrive (now V+) free for a month to test out. Since the change to VM (and therefore VMInfo) I have had very little official help from them outside of the Media team and even they haven't been that supportive. I haven't even been able to take advantage of their affiliate scheme due to having the full company name in my domain name
Seems they're quite protective of their brand, which I can understand of course.
