Long run

Now this is one for the installers.

I would like to move my TiVo box to my new garden room, the run is about 35/40m.

Now, the cable is going in conduit underground alongside cat 6 and some armoured cable. Will the electric cable create unwanted interference?

The question is, what should I use, WF-100 or CT-100, for the length of the run should I use 125 instead of 100?

Will the length of the run be a problem?

Any suggestions on where I should purchase the cable?

Thank you in advance

Re: Long run

In my experience I would stay away from th CT100 and go fro th e WF.

Couple of questions.

How far away from the cabinet are you and are you going to split the cable or just barrel it ?

At the top end you are going to loose around 2.5 dB between WF-100 and WF-125.

This is not much of a problem if you are quite close to the cabinet and you are going to barrel the joint. If you are going to split it and/or you are quite a distance from the cab I would go for the WF 125

Re: Long run

Cabinet, not far, a stones throw away.

Will WF-125 fit into the TiVo box, or will I need to reduce it down?

Re: Long run

WF-125 should fit straight on, but if you are pretty close just go with the 100

Re: Long run

I've currently got quite a lot of longish runs in the house already, will this new run cause a problem for my modem?

from box on exterior wall...
one run is 13m box in lounge
another to modem is about 10m
another to loft is about 8m to splitter then another few meters on each cable from that split to a box in each loft room.
the new run would come off the modem run, a box would be taken from the loft and put in summer house.

Will the new run introduce any signal/power problems for the modem?
