IR Extender

I've just tried to use one on my SA V+ without any luck and a Google search brings me here with the bad news that it doesn't work.

So, has anyone been able to use one with the new TiVo box?

Re: IR Extender

What sort of IR Extender is it? They should work with the V+ no problem (and TiVo).

edit: Oh, you don't mean the Sky Magic Eye, do you? They would need an external power supply to work with a VM box.

Nah just a plain receiver one end, headphone jack the other, but none of the remotes I throw at it do anything :/

Ah, you are trying to use the jack socket on the back of the box? No, that won't work. You need an extender that has an IR transmitter.

Re: IR Extender

Even on the TiVo? I'm trying to avoid using wireless stuff so close to the router.

Even on TiVo.

Wired IR extenders are available, though. Have a look on http://www.letsautomate.com
