Angry My Packet loss

Hey guys

I'm getting unplayaable gaming on BF3

Check this out!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kz25aSAvpdA

I'm on the 100mb Virgin Net using a "crap" SuperHub. I have disabled all router functionality and I'#m using my own Netgear WNDR3700 Router - I have the same issues when using the Router on the SuperHub too.

Here is my packet loss info.

Using the SuperHub Router (now disabled and just using it as a modem)

Using the SuperHub modem and my own Netgear WNDR3700

Already had an engineer come and "test" my line and fit a signal filter and replace my Hub, what else can I do? It is making my Battlefield and other online gaming impossible!

Re: My Packet loss

How do I get my power levels? Having disabled the router function on the Hub the 192.168.0.1 no longer works, I can only access my WNDR3700 using 192.168.1.1

Also yes he fitted a attenuator!

Use 192.168.100.1 to access the superhub when acting as a modem.

Re: My Packet loss

Power levels are fine..

downstream power levels 0.9 -2.2 almost perfect

upstream power 42.5 again fine..

looks like your UBR is congested.. what time did the packet loss and high latency settle back down to the norm.?? i am guessing about 1am or close.

Re: My Packet loss

I've been having the same issue for months now. Had techs out, routers changed you name it and it still makes online gaming a waste of time. A quick look at the official Virgin forums show that there are many who have issues with online gaming and packet loss etc.

So more crappiness on my line with rubbish packet loss.

Unplayable gaming!

I'm meant to be on their 100mb line? I am unable to actually play Battlefield 3!

Re: My Packet loss

I have same issues mate,in the evening the game is at time unplayable. My out come is i have to live with it cos the problems in my area dont warrant any investment to upgrade equipment.
Makes a mockery of their recent adverts for online gaming.
I got 3 mths half price but after that im going elsewhere cos unless im out of work and can play during the day im screwed for playing at night

Re: My Packet loss

the good news for you is due to the recent ASA ruling you may be able to cancel and get your entire contract refunded so you can choose a decent gaming isp.

Or you can hold out and hope the new traffic management next year improves things.
