Newsgroup problem in Glasgow

Anyone in Glasgow or anywhere having problems with newsgroups today? I have 100mb but the speed is less than 100k/sec on both ports 443 and 563 and i haven't downloaded anything in the past couple of days so not like i should be getting throttled or anything, cheers.

Re: Newsgroup problem in Glasgow

Newsgroups and torrents are managed 8am -> midnight, every day, regardless of how little or much you have downloaded. I am not sure how their managment is organized, but perhaps that is the reason you are getting abyssal speeds?

Re: Newsgroup problem in Glasgow

As far as I know it still is the old times deakin listed.

But it wouldn't surprise me if they did an 8am-Midnight trick just to claw back as much bandwith as possible.

Re: Newsgroup problem in Glasgow

My bad then, I didn't check the websites because I couldnt find a link immediately to hand, so I worked from memory, and got it wrong. Although I don't think you really mean 5pm till 12pm, thats 5pm at night till noon the following day :P. I think you mean 5pm till 12am (midnight).
