Re: Just upgraded to 100mb Hayes

Fingers crossed for you, they sold 100Mb early in Newcastle by accident and ended up doing a 'recall' as they couldn't provide it!

Have a few thoughts for your cousins just to your south in Mortlake, Richmond, Twickenham, Kingston and Croydon though, who still haven't received their upstream upgrade and won't until December 2011 - April 2012

Re: Just upgraded to 100mb Hayes

I hope it lives up to it's name... I do my downloads overnight so am expectecting to see a good improvement over my previous 50mb speed.

The current speed tests are not generating any confidence as such so will keep my eyes open...

The reason for this upgrade was not for the download but purely for the upload speed.

BT Infinity has started the profile 17a upgrades while that looks very tempting, I had a very bad experience with BT.

Re: Just upgraded to 100Mb Hayes

Done a few tests and dowloads are over 10MB most of the time...

NG's do a steady 11.3x MB and same with the HTTP downloads...

Re: Just upgraded to 100Mb Hayes

Crikey, I thought for one minute you were getting 100Mb through a Hayes modem...

Re: Just upgraded to 100Mb Hayes

The 100Mb upgrade is due in Coventry this month. Two days to go!

For the first time ever, this morning my 50Mb connection did not live up to its name. Overnight it had slumped to a paltry 2Mb. Rebooting the modem fixed it.

Is this indicative? Can I dare hope that engineers were making last minute adjustments ready for official 100Mb activation on Monday?

OK. I know. The roll out schedule isn't definitive.

Oh! It's back down to 2Mb. There's something afoot.

Re: Just upgraded to 100Mb Hayes

It's not indicative of anything beyond that something is broken sadly.

100Mb release is largely nothing to do with physical work in the RF network, it's mostly done at the hub.

Any idea if its been re-released as I'm sitting on 100Mb.

I'm in Washington though so may be part of the Sunderland version, not sure what Virgin class it under.

O_o

First I heard of newcastle recall, that sounds unlike VM.

What happened did they accept orders and then cancel? or people got activated, they moaned so all got downgraded again?

Re: Just upgraded to 100Mb Hayes

People were activated then rolled back, the area was released for sale by mistake and when this was noticed the recall was done.

It's now November. The 100Mb upgrade, scheduled for October 2011, has not occurred in Coventry.

Have you tried phoning them

I live 5 miles from Coventry and have 100mb for over 3 months

Pay no attention to that website for the timetable , that's like the Governments spending plans ie : very misleading
