VM S-t-r-e-t-c-h-y vision - when can we have 16:9 broadcasts?
Everyday I watch Judge Judy on ITV2 in S-t-r-e-t-c-h-y vision = prehistoric 3:4 broadcast widened to 16:9
I notice there still quite a lot of stuff on VM still broadcast in 3:4
Widescreen has been around for 20 years so when can we expect VM to broadcast in proper 16:9
P.S. and yes i know i can watch 3:4 un-stretched but i want to know why it's not broadcast in proper 16:9

Well they were recorded in the last 20 years
Not for sure but I think most are in 16:9 on freeview - just not on VM cable

Nope - I mean 3:4 (height:width)- you can look at any ratio anyway around (it's not just a 'TV thing')
There's always someone smarter

It only affects specific channels/programmes - not whooooooooole media networks so your sweeping statement has no meaning

My post was a serious question, who's trying to be smarter?,I had no idea there was a 3:4 format (hence the post),seems a bit of a paranoid response to a valid question if you ask me.

It is inconsistant to quote one ratio as 3:4 and the other as 16:9
Re the second comment I was referring to the same programme not a whole platform.

I'll need to do a bit of research myself (haven't watched freeview for months) but I'm pretty confident that some channels being broadcast in widescreen on freeview are not by VM
