en masse V+ factory reset last night??
Last night (Sunday) a V+ bug turned into what I assume to be a factory reset; thankfully my recordings remained intact.
When my spare capacity is running low, to free up space I tend to delete a programme that is currently being broadcast and then set the recording again for the remaining duration of the programme.
Alately, sometimes, when I do this, the new recording period immediately goes into recordings as "failed". I have found that when the failed recording is deleted and a new attempt is made, the box freezes for a short time before rebooting.
Last night this happened, but there was a difference. Halfway through rebooting, it rebooted itself again.
I then discovered that my settings, such as my pin, had returned to their default settings and all my reminders had been deleted!
A short while later a message appeared that said something along the lines of " your smart card has now been activated and you will soon be able to enjoy Virgin TV" (i'm assuming this is what new customers normally see).
A bit later, another message appeared and the box became unresponsive "we are updating your V+ and this will take approx 20 minutes". Fortunately, this took a lot less than indicated.
All seems well now. Does anybody know what this was about?
I'm wondering if this just happened to me, or whether it was done en masse?

Ahhh right. If this is the case, i'm pleasantly surprised that they're still doing updates for the V+.

Definitely not a software update. Just sounds like a glitch. I'd ignore it unless it keeps happening.
