V+ box question?

I'm new to virgin media, and was wondering if an old v+ box (not the V+ HD version) would work on a standard vm cable service, or if I would need to activate the v+ HD service (at £49) to get the benefits of v+ service? Able to pause, record tv etc.

Re: V+ box question?

There never was a non-HD version of the V+, and VM don't offer the V+ without HD activated. You would have to pay the activation fee which gives you both V+ functions and HD.

Re: V+ box question?

Surely it won`t work at all unless issued by VM, he does say he`s new to VM so I would have thought he would have the V+.
