A 20-year-old has written off his dad's £275,000 Gumpert Apollo after taking it for a spin in Germany.

The man was driving with a 19-year-old female passenger and both of them walked away from the accident with minor injuries.

I suppose any crash you can walk away from has to be a lucky one.
I suspect he won't be walking far when his father catches him..

Could have been worse.
Could have been a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.
Better to lose a £275,000 car rather than a £1,600,000

Re: Son writes off his dad's £275,000 supercar
my mate had to give up his work and business thanks to some Twonk like this in the 1990s. My mate was sat at traffic lights in a brand new van and he happened to look in his mirror when a BMW came hurtling towards him and rammed him square on. The Impact was so bad my mate had to be cut out of what was left of the van. Turned out it was a Teenager who had "Borrowed" his fathers BMW driving it like a complete idiot. SInce then my mate has had a few operations on his spine but he is in constant pain and suffering. Before it he was a TV Engineer.

"
Police are investigating whether he was speeding when he lost control of the car on the 50mph road."
Hmmmmmmmmmmm Now let me see.
I think by the state of the car that he might have been travelling in more than excess of 50 mph.
Where was Dad when his car keys were taken then ?

The damage dosnt nessarlly mean he was speeding, supercars (like F1 cars) are designed to desintergrate in a crash allowing the car to absorbe much more of the impact than standard "crushing" that happens to standard cars.
Though he proberlly wasspeeding :P

Trust me mate, He was speeding.
