V+ Recordings Freezing
Hi. I've recently been having a problem with V+ recordings freezing midway through a programme and thus I miss the end of the programme. The recording tends to hang a few times for a couple of seconds before finally freezing completely. It seems to happen when I'm recording two things at once, for example the Man Utd/Marseille and Bayern/Inter games tonight. I was just wondering if there was anything I can do to resolve it myself or do I need to get in touch with VM for a replacement box/engineer visit?
SA V+ box about three years old, if that makes a difference. Also there's plenty of spare recording space (well over 20 hours anyway).
Thanks in advance for any advice.

a reformat might cure this. check the V+ FAQ's.
You will lose all recordings though and series links will be wiped too, so make a note of them.

Re: V+ Recordings Freezing
Thanks. I've reformated the disk accordingly. Hopefully that will sort it out.

Re: V+ Recordings Freezing
Report it to VM faults. See what they say.

Re: V+ Recordings Freezing
OK. VM engineer has just been and replaced the SA V+ box with a Samsung V+. Farewell old SA friend, you were a reliable and trustworthy companion until you went a bit doolally.
Anyway, I had the old box hard wired so that it fed the tv in my bedroom via the RF Out socket. The engineer said that I can't do that with the Samsung box. What are my options to feed the pic to the bedroom, if any?

Re: V+ Recordings Freezing
Thanks.
Now it appears I have to pay £30 or so for a convertor just so I can watch my second telly, which I could watch for free before with the SA V+ box. That's progress. Thanks VM.

It's worth noting that VM don't support what you are trying to do anyway. They supply extra boxes for that.

Re: V+ Recordings Freezing
I see what you're saying, but until VM start addressing bills to my living room I'll continue to believe that paying them for their service entitles me to watch tv throughout my house, at no extra charge. Fair enough if I wanted to watch different channels in different rooms simultaneously, but there's only me here, and at my age I'm not up to that.

There is nothing in the T&C's stopping you doing that in your home. The TV service is provided on a per box basis though, not as a whole dwelling.
