Really bad ping test results
I am on the 30Mb package using a superhub and my speed are fine wireless and wired how ever when I do a ping test on pingtest.net I get over 50% packet loss and can't understand why, I am getting full speed and no lag on my online gaming, results are below
Now when I ping BBC using cmd I don't get any packet loss, I am not that worried as my connection seems to be ok but I am worried in case it goes all tits up.
any help would be useful.

Re: Really bad ping test results
I take it you have already disabled IP flood detection in the superhub?

then can untick the box and hit apply.

Re: Really bad ping test results
try 192.168.0.1 in your browser
Then it should pop up with an option password and username.

Re: Really bad ping test results
Its a type of denial of service attack where the user floods your IP with pointless packets of information.

Re: Really bad ping test results
I think it's the same as SPI firewall but I'm sure some one will correct me if I'm wrong

Re: Really bad ping test results
at a guess I would say its a packets per sec per ip rate limiter. End of the day if the very extremely unlikely thing happens and someone does does ddos you, then you can turn it back on at that point of time although it probably wont help you much anyway, dont worry about having it off in short.

Re: Really bad ping test results
Totally different Pabs. See post above.
Pingtesr sends 250 packets (I think) in quick succeswsion so its detected as a DOS attack.

Re: Really bad ping test results
Yeah, that's pretty much it.
Flood protection is pointless anyway, since it can't actually protect against anything on properly configured systems.
