Sent wrong hub. What to do next.

I recently upgraded my broadband from 10mb to 20mb and clearly read I would be receiving the Superhub. After three weeks of chasing up, got a delivery today, opened it up to find it's not the superhub but the media hub. Rang CS and told them I received the media hub and not the superhub. They said there records show I got the superhub , told them this wasn't correct I got the media hub. After 5 mins of arguing on the phone they told me its ok the media hub will work for up to 50mb. For me that's not the point the point is I want what was advertised. Can anyone advise on how to get the superhub as advertised when i upgraded. I was thinking of upgrading to 100mb but this has put me off.

Re: Sent wrong hub. What to do next.

The hub is only 20Mb capable and will not run on 30Mb and above.

As such though you have received the correct device for 20Mb as many customers run them on 20Mb, I know that is not what you want to hear though.

If their records show that a Superhub was ordered then they must send out the correct equipment as listed in the original order.

I would ring back on 150 from a Virginmedia phone line or 0845 454 1111 from any other phone and choose the option "Thinking of leaving us" and speak to Customer Relations over this issue.

I suspect not everyone is. People (in my experience) tend not to sign up to a forum to say how great their service is, if it is.

Re: Sent wrong hub. What to do next.

I understand what you are saying and that we only hear from the people who moan and 99% of people might be happy, but for me though, there are still too many people/issues cropping up from the superhubs which is why people are joining the forum for help.

I hate to be a pesimist but I am really looking forward to getting 100mbit and not the least bit forward to being forced to use a superhub.

Re: Sent wrong hub. What to do next.

I'm using the superhub on the 30mb and have had no trouble with it. Getting very good speeds on wireless. On the 30 and sometimes over it by speedtest.net.....

Re: Sent wrong hub. What to do next.

gotta be honest, I upgraded my internet to 20mb on the 11/1 after seeing an add for the super hub. They sent me the wrong one also. But by the time i realised i had the wrong one they had made the change so that you got 30mb if u had a superhub.

I should have had one, rang 150 selected the option 'thinking of leaving' Explained it to the guy who said he couldn't do anything but would pass it to Many sumthings team and that i would receive a call by last friday'

They called apologised and agreed to upgrade me to 30 mb free of charge, to be honest they tried to charge me £30 but i said that should have already had the superhub already.

charge waived and super hub being delivered 18/2

Mine too is perfectly fine, I've got it hooked up to an Airport Extreme as I use a USB drive shared over the network, just turned on bridge mode on the Airport and all is fine.
