ESPN - The Future

Haka B on digitalspy posted the below - follow more here and at http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s....php?t=1353530

Been debating whether I should post this info but decided will be for the greater good.

I recently went to a ESPN focus group in which a number of other subscribers were invited and paid to give their feedback on the channel.

A number of points were made in the session I was in and it would seem that ESPN are listening.

For anyone that is a fan of the channel I would encourage them to sign up to the website below and add your feedback.

Currently there is a survey which specifically took on board a number of points that were raised in my focus group.

It is asking subscribers specifically if they would like the following:

An ESPN 2 (current rights to avoid current schedule clashing issue plus adding new sports rights)
An ESPN VOD service (catch up and live sport)
An ESPN red button service (facts and live sport)

It also said it is planning an Saturday afternoon football results show and who would you like to host it

Also asks what sports would you like on an ESPN 2/Red button/VOD service from their current rights and new rights. Boxing, South American Football, Magners League Rugby, Motorsport, Wintersport amongst several others are mentioned as potential new rights.

Also asks whether you pay extra for the service and also whether you like an ESPN 2 in HD and just as weekend only extra channel or 24/7 service.

Sign up asap to the web address below and I for one love the fact that ESPN are actually listening and it seems they wanna take the channel to the next level and push Sly Sports.

ESPN2/HD2 - Its becoming more and more required - ESPN already had a NFL class due to bad wheahter in the US on Monday Night Footbal and with the likes of FA Cup also coming soon plus alot more the schedule is etting overloaded.

ESPN America HD - A case of when not if it joins VM.

ESPN News/UK Sports Centre - rival to Sky Sports and Saturday afternoon football results show

ESPN VOD - This is a must not if or when - this day in age and the VM platform on demand is ahuge benefit.

ESPN red button - A big fan and can not wait for Red button on Sky Sports - with Champs League started Red button is a must and Football First.

I agree with your post completely. They got lucky with NFL games on Monday it was only because the Ravens @ Jets game finished pretty quickly, that we only missed about 5 mins of the Chargers @ Chiefs game and no scoring.

Yeah I was up and watched the 1st games then watch 1st Qtr of second and could just not keep myself up.

I was flipped right off when they kept on coming on saying the 2nd game will on ESPN2/HD2 - US was OK

I know forum/message board was going mad from UK fans shouting out for ESPN2, lucky it was 5 mins but looks like ESPN could be doing something about it.

Re: ESPN - The Future

Any new updates from ESPN about the future changes?

If I Google looking for info I keep getting links to either this forum or Digitalspy. I swear I've e-mailed ESPN about this 4 times via their customer feedback, still had no reply. In fact that's not true, ESPN do send me e-mails asking me to take part in Fan Forums but it's not really what I'm after.

So has anyone heard anything since September / October?
