hd picture quality

hi,have had the v hd box now for 3 weeks and would like to comment on the picture quality. had 10 good years from my old pace box and would have kept it as the picture quality on my "37"panasonic tv was excellent but it started bringing up non prompted on screen messages frequently and was annoying her indoors!!. in my opinion the hd picture is best in outdoor broadcasts i.e. the footy, eurosport. the indoor studio stuff like the soaps are just a tad better than sd but nothing to rave about. i'm glad i swapped and was happy paying just under the hundred quid for box and installation but no way would i pay a monthly sub for hd like the sky boys!!.cheers john

Re: hd picture quality

Totally agree. I too have a 37 inch Panasonic and the upscaled V+ SD picture is excellent, making the HD picture in many cases an anti-climax (though HD sound is better through an amplifier).

I have heard it said that the Sky SD picture is not as good as the VM SD picture, possibly to encourage people to pay the Sky HD £10.25 per month per box.
