V+ and Rf out

Hi, I've just had my V+ box installed and most things seem fine. However I have encountered an annoying glitch which is probably down to ignorance on my part. I have 3 analogue TVs scattered around the house and before V+ installation I was able to get whatever cable program the STP (Samsung) was tuned into on these TVs as the RF Out socket was taken to a "distribution" point in the loft and back out to each room with an analogue TV.

The engineer assured me that the V+ box has similar functionality (via the TV Out socket) but I would have to re-tune the analogue TVs to find the output. Being too excited to learn about PVR functions I let the engi go before testing the RF output - you guessed it I cant find anything on the analogue TVs.

Has anyone got this working with a V+ box ?

Re: V+ and Rf out

Have you fed a signal to the RF in port on the V+? The RF out on the V+ only feeds out what is being passed in.

Re: V+ and Rf out

It is interesting that you say you have 3 analogue TV's around the house.

Are you using the V+ box in Hi Def mode (i.e via HDMI)

If so, there is your problem. When in HD mode all the other outputs are switched off. (RF AND Scarts)

If you are using it in SD mode the the RF output will be fine. What frequency (channel) RF output did the old equipment work to? There is a menu on the V+ tht tells you what IT is sending.

Mine is currently 52, which I am assuming is the factory setting, but only becasue I can't remember chnaging it.

Re: V+ and Rf out

my new telewest silver V+ box ( 4 days old, new from mexico as per the carton info) outputs all the virgin media channels in RF ch 39 ( as set by engineer) with no probs to other tv sets around the house, main tv picture repeats onto other sets......... until you change to HDMI then no coax or scart output. apparently no black boxes until new ones or they spray the silver black with new logos.

Re: V+ and Rf out

Thanks for the replies, I am using the V+ in HD mode with HDMI output so that would seem to explain the lack of RF output.
If I want to change this to SD (via Scart presumably) I assume there is some configuration change on the V+ box ? Someone mentioned a V+ menu how is this accessed (the "settings" options doesn't seem to have this detail) ?
Did you guys have any userguide to go with the V+ box ?

Re: V+ and Rf out

Now this may sound stupid but do HD tvs with digital tuners have RF output for the purpose of connecting to a VCR etc or just a euro scart?
I was just thinking that if it does you can connect to this and the remote tvs could possibly have access to the freeview channels??? I might just be blowing hot air

Re: V+ and Rf out

zinglebarb. have reached the conclusion that the RF on my panny cannot push out freeview using RF,but if you tried the scart way and ran video & sound cables to say another room this may work? has anyone tried this with a video sender? trust I have explained this ok.
