Re: LINKSYS E3000 Dual Band Wireless Router

I'm not using it on 50Mb but on the 10Mb! I've seen vast improve in performance over my EDIMAX wireless router. The connection speed (latency?) seems to be the major improvement rather than data through put. iExplorer also appears to connect to Web sites faster, although page load speeds there is no apparent improvement (subjective). This is most apparent when my music collection updated it album art on line when I used Media player to update my playlists etc. Game play on my PS3 is also smoother and spawning appears to be quicker (I always seemed to be the last in joining a team game)! The uPnP (DLNA) works well, up to now I’ve managed to stream two video stream (SD), 1 wireless, and 1 hard wired 100Mb. Play 1 MP3 track simultaneously while my daughter was using Youtube. You may be able push it further but I haven’t had time, only got it last week. Easy to setup don’t even have to be physically connected at initial switch on, all done wirelessly. This is all using 54Mbit wireless, haven’t got any N wireless cards yet, next purchase. It also supprts VPN pass through, if you work from home onto a secure network you may need this.

I'm no expert in routers but I'm very pleased so far, but still early days to give 100% thumbs up. There are a few reviews out there with mixed reports from good to bad!

P.S OCUK have/had in stock at £97.98 including USB [E3000-UK] dongle, which sucks as I paid more just for the router!
