BLADE blocks all drive-by infections

Still to be released but initial testing looks good.

"BLADE successfully blocked all drive-by malware installation attempts from the more than 1,900 malicious websites tested. The software produced no false positives and required minimal resources from the computer. Major antivirus software programs caught less than 30 percent of the more than 7,000 drive-by download attempts from the same websites."

Tests...LOL!!!

I can quote 10 different tests and on each one a different product comes out on top..

I'd rather wait for professional feedback or personal testing before relying on a product

Pretty negative there, DaiNasty's opening sentence was

"Still to be released but initial testing looks good."

So, 'probably' not in public circulation for professional feedback or personal testing

Re: BLADE blocks all drive-by infections

That's my exact point.. When the testers are the people who are developing the product then what use are the results of the testing

Re: BLADE blocks all drive-by infections

Good point about the testing so far, however I'm only suggesting it may be worth watching. If the external testing comes good then it could be a useful extra layer of security.

Re: BLADE blocks all drive-by infections

Any new software is always worth a watch, especially when being done by a group other than the usual money grabbers like $ymantech, adobĀ£, mi€rosoft..etc..

Re: BLADE blocks all drive-by infections

I think this could be good. I'd like to see the results from some actual in the wild tests, but anything that helps prevent the average user from suffering these attacks is a good thing.

Re: BLADE blocks all drive-by infections

this part sounds bigbrother-ish

BLADE tracks how users interact with their browsers to distinguish downloads that received user authorization from those that do not. To do this, the tool captures on-screen consent-to-download dialog boxes and tracks the user's physical interactions with these windows
seems to only be 'defending' web browsers also, we shall see when its out of the lab
