Belkin n1 vision

i am on virgin cable internet and am running vista. i am trying yet again to set up my belkin n1 vision router, problem is we had a power cut for a few seconds and when i turn router back on it just keeps rebooting but never completes if i press the reset button it just says download mode and gets stuck there. this is driving me bonkers now. i have done all the usual things unplugging and waiting a while and have checked all wires, this problem has happened once before and for some reason decided to sort itself out but this time no luck, please help, cheers.

Yeah, they're very poor. I have the one without the display (plain N1) and nothing but problems such as it not transmitting 802.11n and not connecting to the modem.

You'd be better off ringing Virgin and seeing if your entitled to one of their N routers, that's what I'm planning to do because general consenseus from forums and such is that Belkin routers are poor and so is the support for them.

I had the N1 Vision up until around three weeks ago. It was easily the worst router I have ever had. Constantly crashed, dropped connection and, I found out immediatly after replacing it, was the primary reason my 20mb connection was as speedy as a 14.4k dialup!

My advice - cut your losses and replace it (preferably with anything other than a Belkin!)

Re: Belkin n1 vision

I have a Belkin PreN and it's no issue at all. I haven't tried the Vision though it's guest WLAN feature would be really handy.

I common with any other topic forums do tend to attract more nay sayers than yay and it's quite likely you'd see similar reports for any brand.

Still it's good to know what issues people are suffering. It may be relevant to you or it may not.
