V+HD Query

If you are recording something on a SA V+HD box. Can you start watching the programme before the recording finishes? For example, if the programme is recording from 6pm to 8pm, can you start playing back the recording from the beginning at 7pm, while it carries on recording the remaining hour?

Thanks.
