<TITLE>file dump</TITLE>
</HEAD>

link: <a href="http://XXX>YYY</a>
(XXX = file address. YYY = file name. i just can't seem to get seprate links working. how do i make them on different lines? they all merge into one that will not work)
If you have any problems then please feel to <a href="mailto:EMAIL ADDRESS?subject=filedump">Email me</a> Or you can also contact me via a PM message on href="http://www.FORUM ADDRESS HERE"><b>FORUM NAME HERE</b></a>

Re: HTML help
One error:
link: <a href="http://XXX>YYY</a>
should be
<a href="http://XXX">YYY</a>
You were missing a closing ".
Another error:
PM message on href="http://www.FORUM ADDRESS HERE"><b>FORUM NAME HERE</b></a>
You are missing the opening <a tag
<a href="http://www.forumaddresshere"><b>forum name here</b></a> is how it should be
I can't see anything wrong with the email link, but as you have unclosed links earlier in the document, the browser might think the whole document is one giant link. Try fixing the previous errors first, and seeing if the mailto then works.
I will comment that using a mailto link is asking for spam. It will be harvested by spambots. I hope you have good serverside spam filters.

Re: HTML help
At the begining of each link line put <p> and at the end </p>
<p>link: <a href="http://XXX">YYY</a></p>
Providing all the pages are all in the root directory of the same website, you do not need the http. For example, if a page is called video1.htm you could put:
<p>Link: <a href="video1.htm">VIDEO 1</a></p>

Re: HTML help
oliver1984uk - it is not required that <p> tags are used in HTML. This only makes text bunched into paragraphs. It does not affect the rendering of the page in any browser.
deakin: Just be aware, using CAPS for HTML tags is now depreciated and all tags should be listed in lower case (to be XHTML compatible)
Also - using relative links is much better than absolute links (examples below) as the server usually knows where a document is if its stored on that server, so saves much typing - when using absolute links, you must put in the http:// or whichever protocol you decide to use.
Code:
Absolute = <a href="http://www.mysite.com/images/pic1.jpg">Image 1</a>
Relative = <a href="/images/pic1.jpg">Image 1</a>
w3schools is the best place to learn HTML correctly.
Hope this helps

Re: HTML help
The OP was saying he wanted the links on separate lines, not all on one.
I suggested using <p> tags because it would achieve that easily.
I also tried to explain briefly how to use relative links. Unfortunately, in a few lines, it is not possible to go into all aspects of html programming.

Re: HTML help
hello again folks,
Thanks to everyone for all the help but i'm still stuck i have managed to get the links on different lines but now only the first link will work. Where have i went wrong this time ? Could it be that it's because i've uploaded exe files as a test. as the first link is a video the others are the exe files.

Re: HTML help
Your own firewalls or antivirus may be upset at you trying to get .exe files from a website.

Re: HTML help
Sorry my mistake, only the first one worked... Doesn't VM have limitations as to EXE/passwordedZIPS and other such files on their webspace So yes you are correct in that the EXE files will fail
