Cancelling Broadband - But I remember paying some money in advance?
Hi,
Sorry if this subject has been covered already. I did do a search but couldn’t find an answer to my question (only about people cancelling prior to 12 month contract being completed).
I signed up for 10meg cable broadband in June 2009. I moved out of that property (my dads home) and into my mums in April of this year. I wanted to cancel my Virgin broadband at my dads house when I moved out, but knew I still had about 3 months of my 12 month minimum contract left, so thought what’s the point, I will still have to pay the remainder anyway. So I left it, and that way my brother (who still lives with my dad) could continue to have internet for a few months. Well, I’ve been lazy and still haven’t got round to cancelling it, even though it’s now August and my 12 months were up in June. I will be phoning them to cancel in the next few days.
The thing is, when I first signed up to Virgin broadband I am sure I remember paying some money up in advance? About £60 if I remember correctly (my internet costs £20 a month). So should I be getting a refund? Or am I totally confused… I remember reading the booklet I got and was totally confused with the first few payments!
I wont be transferring the account to my new address, as my mum already has her own Virgin internet in the house.
