Slow speeds on 20mb

Currently getting around 15mb, but this fluctuates wildly later on in the day and goes down to 1mb, even at about 2am in the morning. I don't think its traffic shaping, as I've installed a traffic monitor and have downloaded 7gb total in the past seven days. My power levels seem to change during this.

Upstream is high. No doubt Masque will be along soon and probably advise you to call it in.

Re: Slow speeds on 20mb

The U/S level may be on the high side but still within spec, wouldn't expect problems until over 55dBmV

Re: Slow speeds on 20mb

He's got problems and also says the power levels vary.

I haven't advised he calls in but I suspect he'll end up doing so. I have given the link to the sticky so he can check the levels himself.

My levels at this 3am and I'm getting a max downloading speed of approx 200kb off the blueyonder file server. Something is amiss.

and now back to 2mb an hour later.

I do have a bandwidth monitor, and its not that. I have a router (wireless, but only for laptop), should I try hooking directly from the modem to the computer next time it hits low speeds?

Re: Slow speeds on 20mb

The power levels are not to bad, the upstream is a little high but overly so, if you are having issues the problem may be elsewhere so a call to technical support may be in order so they can check out your connection for you.
