Fax problem
I don't know if anyone can help me, but I used to send many faxes direct from my PC via the fax modem. And I also had a thermal fax on the same dedicated fax line. Then when I changed to an Epson SX600FW multi function fax/scanner/printer, the fax modem on my PC stopped working. Is it just a coincidence that my fax modem failed at the same time, or is there some sort of conflict between the two?

Re: Fax problem
Are both set to receive faxes? If so that can cause confusion.

Re: Fax problem
Now now it says no dial tone, and I can't get one by unplugging the modem from the wall socket and plugging a phone in. It's as if it has opened a call, but I can't cancel it.

Re: Fax problem
Disconnect everything, go back to the master socket and plug a phone in there. If still no dial tone, can you phone in? That will tell you if there is a fax modem/printer issue, or a phone line issue.

I've just tried that, and can now get a dial tone from a phone, but the fax software says no line detected.
Does this sound like a faulty fax modem?

Re: Fax problem
No real idea. If the ptinter only is plugged in, does that work / answer / send OK. Vice versa, what happens.
If one device works, the other doesn't then time to look at that device and more particularly it's software / drivers / settings.

Re: Fax problem
The printer works fine as a fax, the only problem is using the pc as one. I have tried changing settings, but it doesn't work. And I have tried it on different phone lines to the printer. So it looks like my fax modem is fried.
