PAYG Tariffs?
Got two mobiles on VM Original PAYG.
http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/gener...f.howdoi.sm286
Better than "Addict", except for other mobile networks.
Now with other VM services, it would appear that I could switch to Simply 8p
http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/gener...sts.shop.sm287
Much better for x-net rates, cheaper for landline unless using more than 25 minutes in a day (not very likely for me).
50 free VM to VM minutes per month (not bad).
Have I missed anything, is there some awful catch, other than needing to be a customer on other services - normally if you want a good deal as an exiting customer, you have to threaten to leave.
I guess if keeping the old number is not possible, it's no biggie, can never remember it without looking up "own number" or using phone memories anyway.

Re: PAYG Tariffs?
I got my daughter on the Virgin Media £10 (pay by direct debit) Virgin Media 10 200+3000 AA (200 minutes, 3000 texts, 3000 Virgin to Virgin minutes).
She's a teenager though... actually goes through those limits now ...

Re: PAYG Tariffs?
The new 8p tariff is to compete with ASDA mobile (who use the Vodafone network) and TESCO PAYG Lite (O2 network). Both these have a flat rate to all UK landlines/mobiles of 8p and all texts are 4p.

Re: PAYG Tariffs?
If it's to compete with those, then they need to rethink the "existing customer" link.
And I guess I'm probably right that it would be a new sim / new number - as I read it, I could just apply for a couple of free sims, and spend down the credit on the old ones - could go a few internet sessions, loading free apps from Playnow and tinkering with other stuff.

Sure that page used to have more on it, and said up to 4 sims (unless I saw that because I'd already logged in to check webmail).

Re: PAYG Tariffs?
Found the page I was looking for...
http://www.mobilefamily.virginmedia.com/payg.html
One of the bubbles says "up to 4 free sims, each with up to £30 airtime"
No mention of the airtime anywhere else, but presumably it's a topup bonus that expires.
