pop3blueyonder
My user profile apparently crashed and I can't get my blueyonder email back. Any suggestions?

Re: pop3blueyonder
Welcome to Cable Forum.
A little more data would be useful. How do you normally pick up your email, is this webmail via a browser such as Internet Explorer or do you use an email program such as Outlook Express?
Difficult at the moment to guess anything about what has happened.

Actually, looking at your first post here and the PM I'm still not clear what exactly has happened.
OK. What version of Windows are you using. Is the profile you mention the account that you use to log in to the computer.
I'm struggling to get a handle on the issue here. Try and post a bit more detail about what you see as having changed.

Re: pop3blueyonder
As I said, I'm no techi. I have Windows Vista/System 32 and I have no idea what that really means. I use so many applications in my job, but systems - doh! I really appreciate you trying to help me out here, but when it comes to systems - I'm asbolutely useless. I had my blueyonder email as a shortcut just to make it easier to get into. I use shortcuts at lot for ease of use and get into applications/files quickly. I'm a bit of nightmare I'm afraid!

Re: pop3blueyonder
If you mean the login to webmail try putting this into your browser mail.blueyonder.co.uk and enter your email address and password.
Here is a setuplink for pop3 clients in Outlook Express http://www.virginmedia.com/help/emai...etup_by_server

Re: pop3blueyonder
OK then. Let's try bypassing your shortcut and dealing direct with webmail.
Firstly, you will need your full blueyonder email address and also your password.
http://www.virginmedia.com/
Click on the Virginmedia link above. That will probably open in Internet Explorer. To the right of the red band at the top there is a button for email. Click on this.
Now put a dot in the 'blueyonder' selection option and continue. Enter the first part of your email address and click to sign in. Enter password as required.
Once that is done you should hopefully be able to see your inbox.
Edit: Aha, the staff are on the case.. I'll go get a beer then..

Re: pop3blueyonder
Hope you've grabbed your beer, cos I've grabbed a glass of wine. Got a result, but it's very different looking from my Windows Live Mail - what do I do with it now?

Re: pop3blueyonder
Ah, another clue.. Windows Live Mail.
Mmmm, crackers and danish blue.. hang on, be right with you..
Right, back to business. Top left of the page you should see an inbox folder. If you click on that is there any mail in there?

Re: pop3blueyonder
Crackers and Danish Blue and beer - sounds good - for me Camembert or Gambazola. Hope you're enjoying - you deserve. You are indeed a star as I appear to have all my blueyonder emails back, but not in my usual media. Now showing as Virgin and not used to that one, but at least I've got my email back. Thank you so much.

Re: pop3blueyonder
Good news then. You can get access to your mail via this webmail system although personally I find it clunky and awkward.
Next step I suppose is to work out why your Windows Live Mail has stopped working. However, I think that's going to have to wait until tomorrow as the dog's demanding his late spin round the block..

Re: pop3blueyonder
Have just tried to get back into my blueyonder email and can't - I've probably done something stupid. Hey, go walk your dog - nice time for you and he/she. You talk/they listen. Thanks for your help tonight - very much appreciated.

Don't know if it makes any sense to you, but history is that I logged on in the evening when I got home from work - absolutely fine - very slow, but absolutely fine. Had to go out, so logged off and when I logged on again when I got home, got the message "user profile service service failed to log in - user profile cannot be loaded" and that's where my problems started! Incidentally, hope you've had a lovely walk with the dog. I used to have two Cavaliers. What flavour is yours? She
