TV down in London?

Hi

Has anyone else lost TV in the London area? Flashing 'online' light on the front of the V+ box (as happened earlier in the month!) reluctantly tried a reboot and as expected light still flashing, display stuck on AP 52 and TV screen is just the white on black Virgin logo.

Nothing on the status page

Re: TV down in London???

You need to call Tech Support which is open 24/7 on 151 from your Virgin Media Phone.

It's absolutely free.

Or call 0845 454 1111 from any other phone line.

Thanks!

I was trying to avoid calling as I don't have a Virgin phone and will have to use my mobile and when ever i have to call I'm on bloody ages. Oh well, thanks for the 0845 number - saves me looking it up

Edit: Just tried calling and cuts me off before I get through to a person.... I love calling Virgin...

Can you be more specific as to whereabouts you are in London? i.e. 1st part of postcode?

WC1X

I managed to get through to the off shore call centre apparently there is in an area fault, still no service, so I'm guessing it will be out till tomorrow. There was a pre recorded message saying a fault in NW1 which is close to me so I'm guessing I'm on the same head end or something. Don't know why they don't have this on their status page... what's the point of having one if you don't update it lol.

I'm not that bothered as long as they are aware of it and fixing it - do the outage teams even work through the night?

Also not familiar with the news groups or how they work doh. thanks for your help though.

Hi,

Yeah just checked your outage and it's not going to be on the status page as it's a P2. We only post P1 (over 250 customers) on our status pages. The status page is always updated by the Outage Teams.

Engineers work around the clock. Your service should be back on soon

---------- Post added at 23:25 ---------- Previous post was at 22:38 ----------

Service should be restored now

Re: TV down in London?

I was always thought that an AP52 fault meant the box was knackered.

No.. it means the box can't tune to a transport stream. Usually a local outage, but sometimes can be a box fault. HTH

Re: TV down in London?

My box did this a couple of months ago and I was told on the telephone that it meant my box had shut down and was not repairable and I would need a new box. I lost all the stored content, which was bloody annoying.
