Net dropping out on a morning.

Hi. I have had this problem for the past couple of weeks, but haven't really bothered with it until now.

The problem:

Internet drops out nearly EVERY morning between 6am - 8am I have to turn the router off, wait 30 seconds and turn it back on before I can get net back, then it usually drops out again soon after.

Power light = Solid
Enet light = Solid but flashing every now and again
Send light = Off
Recieve light = Flashing on very slowly
Sync light = Solid
Ready light = Solid

Router says this in the logs:

Which says to me the router is trying to upgrade it's firmware but is locked down, and thus fore can't upgrade.

I have a Ambit E08C013.00 with the following settings:

Downstream
Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Channel Id : 50
Downstream Frequency : 323000000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : QAM64
Downstream Symbol Rate : 6952 Ksym/sec
Downstream Interleave Depth : taps12Increment17
Downstream Receive Power Level : -8.8 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 30.5 dB

Upstream
Upstream Lock : Locked
Upstream Channel ID : 3
Upstream Frequency : 45800000 Hz
Upstream Modulation : QAM16
Upstream Symbol Rate : 2560 Ksym/sec
Upstream transmit Power Level : 58.5 dBmV
Upstream Mini-Slot Size : 2

Can anyone help me with this problem, or should I phone Virgin up and get them to fix it from their end?

Thanks for any help.

Re: Net dropping out on a morning.

On first sight, one would say that Upstream power at 58.dBmv is too high and might cause instability at the next landing point.

On second sight, if this is examined in conjunction with your lowish SNR, one could understand whay the modem has a high power output.

And, looking again, your receive power level is out of spec and very low which I'm certain would cause instability.

You can check your internal cabling - good condition, properly screwed in etc. You could check your wall box for damp/corrosion. You could check your stree box for door not open. It looks like a service call if your cable is in good nick.

Re: Net dropping out on a morning.

You will need a tech to come out and sort out your connection.

You need to call Tech Support which is open 24/7 on 151 from your Virgin Media Phone.

It's absolutely free.

Or call 0845 454 1111 from any other phone line.
