Free XL TV for 2 months
http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html...ree-tv-xl.html
how do you stop it after 2 months? Just call them up?
Or do you have to have it for 12 months or so and they are just giving you 2 months free?

Re: Free XL TV for 2 months
It's not a free trial of XL, it's two months of XL tv free. Not the same thing
Once you upgrade to XL you are expected to stay on XL

No you upgrade to XL tv for a full 12 months and get the first 2 months free.
The 30 days you are talking about is when you add an extra to your TV package such as movies or sport, you have to keep them for a minimum of 30 days.

Re: Free XL TV for 2 months

On this page near the bottom
http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html...ble/terms.html
' minimum period' the minimum period that you must keep a service , starting from the service start date or such other minimum period as you have agreed with us. For example, unless you are told otherwise by us, you must keep the phone service , the television service and the broadband service for 12 months from the service start date in each case and, in the case of other services (including but not limited to premium television services , which period you will be notified of by Virgin Media Entertainment), for at least 30 days. We may change the minimum period for any service but this will not affect you if you have already subscribed to that service .

Thats a totally different page. There is no reference to them terms and condition in this offer.
I would have thought it a court of law the terms as stated on the page of the offer you take are the ones that actually count surely and it says PACKAGE UPGRADES must be kept for 30 days I got the offer in a flier I have M tv so if I go to XL then I am upgrading my package not adding a package
At the top of the page it clearly says UPGRADE to 160 channels

I go with Ben on this due the fact the offer above talks about it being the first 2 months free, all premium packages can be cancelled after 30 days and if you signed up for this you would find yourself in a new 12 month contract.
The person to believe on this is Ben as this is his department and it very unlikely what he has said to be wrong.
I know the website can look unclear and it took me some time to find the actual T&C link I posted.

Re: Free XL TV for 2 months
Look at the page thats linked to it for existing customers. It clearly says UPGRADE all over the page and there are terms and condition at the bottom of the page that clearly says PACKAGE UPGRADES must be kept for 30 days. Unless someone tells you different when you call then these are the terms to which you would be agreeing to.

at the end of the day its to dam risky trusting VM to do the right thing me thinks.

As you would be upgrading to XL and it clearly states 2 months for free then I would assume that your contract would go by default to 12 months.

Re: Free XL TV for 2 months
assumption is the mother of all cock ups lol
Thing is nowhere on that page or in my flier is a 12 month contract mentioned. I was actually going to post about this asking if it would effect my pricing if I was to have it for a few months and then dropped it. It does look to me like its a tempting offer for existing customers to try the services. Sky do it all the time trying to get me to try movies and sports free for a couple of months no strings attached. It would not surprise me if VM do have hidden strings but if no one actually tells them me then I aint gonna be tied to them. As I say its to risky to even contemplate this offer cuz I dont want it full time cuz VM wont reinstate my V+ box so they can shove it up their rectum sideways
