Recurring Loss of Internet Connection

Hello, I wonder if anyone else is experiencing the same problem I have at the moment with their wireless broadband connection. A couple of days ago my internet connection speed noticably decreased and then yesterday the internet entirely stopped working and couldn't find my network. I called the Virgin helpline and they got me to turn off my modem, router and computer and then start the modem, then the router and finally the computer again. This worked in restoring my connection but then after I closed down my browser and went back to it the same thing happened. I repeated the process as above and it worked but it continues to occur and sometimes I have to try the process a couple of times to get it to work again. I've had the same set-up for a year with no problems and I'm pretty sure there isn't anything different with my set-up for this to suddenly start happening. Anyone seen this before?

Thank you

Ricky.

Re: Recurring Loss of Internet Connection

It's whenever I shut down my browser and then try and go back on. It can't find my internet account and so gets me to choose from the available networks and then says it can't sign me in to it so I have to reboot everything. Last time I was on the net I used a signal checker and it said I was only getting about 4MB whereas I'm signed up to the 10MB package and used to get something close to that so I don't know if maybe it's linked to the signal strength as it was running very slowly the day before this happened.

Re: Recurring Loss of Internet Connection

Actually things are working again this evening and my connection speed is back up to just under 10mb as well. I spoke to a colleague in our IT dept and he had been having the same problem since Thursday, also with a Mac. Hopefully whatever was causing it has been sorted now though. Thanks everyone.
