Say what the hell?

When I signed up for eBilling to save on the paper bill charge, I didn't expect them to put me at risk of identity theft.

What am I talking about? I'm talking about them putting my entire ACCOUNT NUMBER and AREA CODE at the very top of each and every email they send me to tell me that my bill is ready for viewing.

I mean, come-on! Those are two fairly important bits of information, very valuable to identity thieves. We're told to "keep our details safe and secure", but then they send us an unencrypted email, with those very details plastered in plain-text across the top of the mail, where anyone with the required means can read it off.

I know this is an independant forum, I'm just having a little rant about the sheer stupidity of it.

Peace out.

Re: Say what the hell?

How can it be idenity theft?

The e-mail doesn't include your name or address. Without those the Account number and or area reference don't mean a thing.

You can't register for e-billing in the first place without the surname on the account
