Have VM brought back optouts?

Watching tv last night i noticed that the channels that used to have intermission on them and channels such as bbc3 and cbbc are now showing a VM screen when off air.

I know its stupid just wondering whether anyone else has noticed this. Wouldnt be suprised if they start ad optouts on a big scale soon, like the good old days haha. Stupid farmfoods adverts for your local store lol

Re: Have VM brought back optouts?

No. not optouts. Just some new broadcast equipment that handles off-air channels differently.

Re: Have VM brought back optouts?

no its optouts nick went at exactly the time it should have, and i bet the BBC ones are terrible as they have a tendancy to kick up the stream a tad faster than the advertised time, seems like they have split the bbc 3 and cbbc aswell back into 2 discrete channels

I'm not sure what you mean? In ex-Telewest areas we've always had an off-air screen... BBC Three and CBBC are on the same channel as they time share...

True, but it's new for the Bromley network.

Meanwhile, I'm off to buy some shares in Alcan.

Re: Have VM brought back optouts?

with further investigation it seems that they are optouts carried out by the settop box by switching to the off air screen which is itself a different channel. There is just one of these off air channels which is switched onto any off air channel. The channel itself still transmits any rubbish such as teleshopping that was already fed into that channel for other networks such as on sky.
