50Mb pricing confuses me somewhat

Hey all

I am currently on the grand triple bundle with TV XL, my bill stacks up like this

Description -------- Amount
Telephone Line Rental £11.00
Grand Triple £-14.00
Call Displ £2.00
T V Size: X L £23.00
V+ Box £0.00
Broadband Size: L £25.00

So £47 a month. I looked at the XXL broadband which is a base price of £38. I thought I would phone up to see how much going from L to XXL would cost. I assumed that it would cost £13 more as thats how much more the base price of XXL costs than my current broadband.

Anyway, turns out it will cost me £17.50 a month more, so my monthly figure would be £64.50.

When I build the package on the website it says the cost is £49.50 + £11 line rental + £2 caller id (which is a RIP off), therefore £62.50.

So, in my head I now have 3 figures how on earth can I get a definitive answer or am I just going to get random figures quoted when I phone up?

Sky can offer me a similar package with up to 20Mb broadband for £53.25 all in, can I use that as a bargaining tool or have those days now past

Thanks for any help/pointers.

Re: 50Mb pricing confuses me somewhat

You have correctly identified the price, £62.50, including the £2 for caller id.

What is confusing is that the £38 price for BB XXL is an already discounted price for STANDALONE BB XXL.

The price as shown on any bill before discounts for BB XXL is £45 - £20 more than the price you see on your bill for BB L.

What this says is that the £62.50 price would see your discount going up from the current £14 to £18.50 and your new bill would look something like this:

Description -------- Amount
Telephone Line Rental £11.00
Discount £-18.50
Call Displ £2.00
T V Size: X L £23.00
V+ Box £0.00
Broadband Size: XXL £45.00

Total £62.50
